Happy to be back :)

First week back at Kaleo! I missed it lots over the break but also enjoyed my time at home throughly. I am glad to be back here though with everyone and pumped for the months ahead of craziness! It is already getting so busy!
My trip back last sunday was a VERY long day of traveling! Being sick was not very nice either lol. I left the city around 4:30am to go to the airport and got on the plane by 7am. As soon as i sat down i fell asleep for a basically the whole ride and than i got into vancouver by 9am BC time and was in the airport from than until 2pm. I watched some Gossip Girl and went on the internet, luckily there was free internet in the airport :) I got picked up and went downtown vancouver to kill some time to get on the ferry to come back. I walked around on Robinson street i think the name is...reminded me of Toronto a bit. I got a really good crepe that tasted so good! I than caught the ferry to the Island and it was so cool! It was my first ferry ride! It was a really nice ferry! When i got off of it, it was a blizzard outside! I couldn't believe how snowy it was! It took us an hour and a half supposed to 45mintues to get back! We finally made it back and i was happy to unpack my things and get to bed super early that night :)
Monday we had chapel and lazed around for the day. We would of had our course start that day but some people flew in on monday so they bumped the course up to start on Tuesday. We started "Theology of Mission" and it was a pretty good week all in all.

On wednesday I had youth group! I was excited to go back and see the kids and see how there breaks went and just hang out with them. It was good talking with the girls in my group and getting to know the new girls that had came out. I really love hanging out with these girls and trying to show them Christ's love through me. We went on a scavenger hunt which was LOTS of fun but i had to make sure my attitude was in the right place. It was pouring outside so it wasnt too nice but i had a team of girls that were really eager to get all the things on the list! It was fun running around in the rain around the town! We ended up getting alot of things but did not win :( It was fun though just bonding and hanging out and running from place to place trying to find different things on the list that we had been given.

The week went on with our course which was pretty good and than on saturday was our last day and I was thankful for the rest! I was really tired from the week! Even though i had, had decent bed times i was still finding myself tired. On saturday night we watched a movie some of us called "Sometimes in April". It was an educational movie let me say. I don't want to say good cause it wasn't a movie that you say wow amazing story. Because it was a very sad movie with many events that were very horrible. It was about the genocide that went on in Rwanda in the early 1990's. About the Hutu's and the Tutsi's (if im spelling it right)...they did not like each other and war broke out. The Hutu's wanted to kill all the Tutsi's and wipe out all of them, kids, woman, men. It didn't matter who they were they killed them. It was a horrible thing that went on in history and there was so much injustice that went on. It made me really realize that i live in such a free country and i take it for granite often. So yea that was a very educational and eye opening movie to watch that changed some of my views at looking at things now. I just couldn't believe how people could be so cruel to innocent humans.

Sunday I went to church and I was glad to be back. It was a good church service and than afterwards we went to lunch at one of the familys from the church. It was fun hanging out and talking with the family and getting to know them. I enjoyed myself lots and the food was great! I ended up biking from their house all the way back to the camp becuase someone had biked to church that morning but didn't want to bike back so I did. The hills kind really tired me out going up them haha but it was a good workout!

The week has come to an end but monday is coming and im super pumped to be going to Mt.Washington for some boarding and snow shoeing! I will be there from monday til friday and im super duper excited to have fun! I do have lots of hmk im bringing along with me so im hoping i can get some done! I will take lots of pictures and be sure to put some up when i return!

some things to pray for:
-For me to get enough sleep and go to bed at a decent hour
-To get all my homework done and not be too rushed
-For the Lord to ready my heart for the months ahead
-Wisdom to decide where I should be in this upcoming September

My blog is officially back on every mondayish i will be writing in it! So keep on looking for updates :)

Dear Alivia,

It is great to see you back at school and posting your Blog again.

I have already written to Erin and two other Ontario kids (can you guess who?) and I still have a bit of work ahead of me tonight.

It is 11:30 and I am sure I have at least one or two hours to accomplish and I just finished reading your BLOG where you extol the virtues of a good sleep. I will cut this short, get to my work and try and get to bed soon.

I hope you have a great week skiing and be sure to say "hello" to Erin for me.

Gord
